Silk weaving again

I have been lazy on the weaving during the summer, but now I feel inspired again. I have started a weave with silk. Well, the yellow is technically a mix of wool and silk, but still, the green and red are pure silk. Current weave: 32 motif cards + 6 border cards. I plan to maybe try some combinations of different 16 cards motifs (since 16 +16 =32). Lets see how it turns out. A first glance below.

Weaving…

The Medieval week in Visby

I have come back from the Medieval week in Visby, Gotland, Sweden. It was great as always. I never take many photos, as it goes against the historic feeling. But here I still have a few.

I brought some belts since some of my friends wanted to buy some. I ended up selling most of them without doing much except bringing them with me. It inspired me to add a new page to my blog “For sale“, since I have far too many belts and it made me quite happy to see them around the waist of my friends.

I also learned a new craft, to make baskets from grass.

I also convinced my sister to join me for the first time in 20 years.

Some weaving, but not by me!

I got happily surprised when I got some pictures of Sulawesi weaving using my patterns. It was from Marieke Kranenburg who organized a weaving get together. It looks great!

I feel really honored and somehow more motivated to draw new images and to add more of my existing designs to my blog. Thank you Marieke for sharing!! It made my day!
